About Me

I am Manish Deo, an M.Tech student in Structural Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, with a strong interest in structural engineering, earthquake engineering, and research.

My academic interests are focused on the behaviour, analysis, and strengthening of structural systems, particularly reinforced concrete structures. I am currently exploring research related to FRP-strengthened reinforced concrete membersand their behaviour under structural loading.

Alongside my academic work, I am interested in computational modelling and numerical analysis of structures. I am particularly interested in using finite element methods to understand structural behaviour and to complement experimental research.

My current research work involves experimental investigation of strengthened reinforced concrete members, with an emphasis on understanding their structural response and the effectiveness of strengthening techniques.

I believe that good structural engineering combines sound theoretical understanding, experimental evidence, and practical engineering judgement. My long-term goal is to contribute to research in structural and earthquake engineering and develop solutions that can improve the safety, resilience, and performance of structures.
